Trim Cube - Product Number 2000

There is no simpler way of measuring inclination than with a Trim sensor. They have no moving parts, are small, robust and have been employed world-wide in hundreds of different applications.

Trim Cube

Each Trim sensor has an integral single chip microcomputer that utilises electrolytic gravity sensors to determine inclination. The electronics automatically compensate for temperature and voltage fluctuations, apply calibration data, formats and control data output. A choice of serial data output is available, either RS232 or digital current loop.

The Trim Cube is designed for use on static or dynamic platforms to monitor pitch and roll. The output rate is approximately 5 readings per second in a 12 character ASCII format using the standard sign conventions. Pitch readings being, rotations around the X-axis and roll readings around the Y-axis. An additional option allows a Robertson SKR80 gyro format to be read by the cube and, output with pitch and roll to give a complete 3D picture of rotations.

The Subsea Trim is a fully waterproof embodiment of the Trim Cube depth rated to 3,000 meters. It is supplied with a Burton 8 pin connector which can be used to connect to an electronics pod or by cable to the surface.

The Trim surface display unit can be used with all MDL's Trim products to display and output pitch and roll information, or the data can be fed directly into a computer or other data acquisition systems.
